The Mark Milsome Foundation - Film and TV Online Safety Passport Course: ScreenSkills 5 year Production Safety Passport

Mark Milsome was a talented respected and much loved camera operator who died on set behind his camera when a car stunt went tragically wrong in Ghana in November 2017. The Mark Milsome Foundation launched one year later with 4000 cast, crew and productions worldwide wearing Black Foundation T Shirts to mark the anniversary. www.markmilsomefoundation.com

The Film and TV Online Safety Course, created by the Foundation to protect and empower all crew,  aims to prevent a tragedy such as Mark’s ever happening again.

Designed to be time and cost effective; it responds to the needs of crew as identified by the Foundation in an industry wide survey that received over 5000 confidential responses. All results and comments are available on the MMF website but key findings included:

  1. 63% Believe the current H&S regulations need improving.
  2. 20% Do not believe H&S is adequate at all.
  3. 84% Say working hours, sleep deprivation, driving whilst tired was main H&S concern
  4. 80% Believe budget restrictions are to blame for poor H&S
Written and directed by film director and then MMF Chair, Kirk Jones with the support of the National Film and Television School and technical support from Media Safety Ltd, the course is just 90 minutes long, can be taken in one sitting or in bite sized chunks, and provides successful participants with a ScreenSkills 5 Year Production Passport.

The content of this and all our courses has been independently certified as conforming to universally accepted Continuous Professional Development (CPD) guidelines and come with a Certified CPD Statement as well as a ProTrainings Certificate and for online courses an Evidence-Based Learning statement. Successful applicants will receive a Level 2 Production Safety Passport via ScreenSkills valid for 5 years.

Do it for your families, for your colleagues and for Mark. This absolutely should become an industry standard”.
